Home Visit

Falling Slowly – Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (OST – Once)

The training that I have been conducting at work is over. So I applied for a day and a half leave to visit my family in Ilocos. I will be having that trip tonight after work. My last visit was four months ago. I think much has changed. My auntie kept raving how my cousins miss me. Haha, yeah I miss them too. I haven’t shopped for anything to bring home yet. Maybe I won’t, I will just buy some pizza at some fastfood there. I have more than enough to carry already.

So I won’t be around for at least three days. I hope to bring back some good photos during my vacation. I haven’t been posting any photos for the last months so I hope I will have some when I come back.

Frank

Storm Frank is currently battering Metro Manila and surrounding provinces. Typhoon signal no. 3 is up. I still need to get prepared for the Sunday service. Hmmm, do services get cancelled during storms?

Ang tanga ko kahapon. I slept mga 4 ng hapon ata, I wasn’t aware of the time. Tapos nagising ako sa lakas ng hangin at ulan. My phone says the time is 6 o’clock. Alam mo yung pakiramdam mong gising na gising ka? Ganun ung gising ko. In other words, maganda yung gising ko. So I got my towel, took a bath then changed for the sunday service. Nagtaka ako bakit madilim pa rin… e dapat 7 o’clock na. Akala ko dahil may bagyo lang. I checked my phone again — 7 o’clock nga — 7 o’clock PM, nak ng leche. Hay, katanga. Nakakatawa. So I changed back to my home clothes, well, at least bagong ligo ako.

Stomaches get upset

Now that I’m a little bit relaxed and I’ve had a few hours of restful sleep until one of my house mates knocked on my door just because he felt like knocking, let me describe how this Tuesday went. Well, aside from the previous post, there’s some other bad thing that happened. I am sick and I am a bit worried. I remember in grade school, my teachers used to send me home due to ulcer attacks, at least that what I thought it was. I had to stoop or lean forward like a hunchback if I walk because walking upright is just painful. No, the pain I felt earlier today is not something like that, thankfully. I hope it doesn’t lead to that too. Maybe it’s the grapes I had this morning, or the milk, or the coffee at the office, or the cookies, or the crackers. It may even be the water. It hurts, my tummy, not in the I-wanna-use-the-toilet-badly way but in the maybe-it-will-go-away-if-I-sleep-it-out way. Maybe it’s an anxiety attack? But why? I didn’t even eat lunch because I’m afraid it’ll get worse. So I decided to leave the office at around 2:30 pm then bought a meal then went home.

I am better now after a few hours sleep. I hope tomorrow I don’t upset my stomach again.

Clean

Listening to Rockstar – Nickelback

I did some cleaning tonight because I feel unusually driven to do so. After throwing out empty alcohol and lotion bottles, fastfood delivery receipts, snot stained tissues, and other stuff that has been lying on my bedroom floor since godknowswhen, I felt I haven’t done any cleaning at all.

This morning, I attended the sunday service at CCF for the first time this year. It was refreshing. I just hope I get to have the drive to attend weekly.

Overslept / Multiply / Backup

Ang lamig na ng panahon ngayon at nakakatulog na ako ng mahimbing kahit patay ang electric fan. Heto nga at kakagising ko lang, alas sais na ng hapon. Although, nagising naman ako earlier tapos natulog na lang ulit.

Anyway, kagabi, I updated my multiply site. Sa wakas, ayaw ko kasi magmaintain ng pagkadami-daming online crap. Hindi ko na nga nachecheck yung friendster ko. I think I will be a semi-regular na sa multiply.

I am a member of a forum focused on gaming. I found out this morning (nung unang gising ko ata) that they had an upgrade. They weren’t able to migrate the previous data to the new database. So, all the topics were gone and members need to register again. WTF! What kind of IT people are they? Don’t they know how to back-up?

Talong and Itlog

I came across this post by Jessica Zafra. Natawa ako nung nabasa ko yung “Why is a dish of talong and itlog called puki-puki?“. The post was about her trip to Ilocos. I am an Ilocano and I never heard of a dish called puki-puki. Hehe, I thought talong + itlog is simply tortang talong. Hmmm, baka sa Ilocos Norte lang ung puki-puki. Masarap kaya? Makatikim nga pag nadaan ako dun.

Oist, stop your naughty minds. It’s a dish.
