Next Destination: Pagudpud

Since karamihan ay gustong magbakasyon, pero walang matuloy tuloy kasi lahat hangang plano lang, one of my friends finally volunteered to push and plan for our next destination which is sa north naman, sa Pagudpud! I am an Ilocano but I have never been to Pagudpud. Sa August pa naman to. Target date is from 16-Aug to 18-Aug, which is a national holiday (I forgot what).

They’re Flying

Over a month ago, I assisted my tito and lola on their UK visa applications. Well, I just went with them to their appointments here and here, etc. A week ago, their visas were sent to them back home. Tomorrow they’re flying to the Brits.

They’ll be back on November. I hope they have a safe and comfortable travel.

FF12 Update

I am still playing and I think I am not quitting anytime soon. I already have the secret weapon, the Zodiac Spear. Now I am planning to get other weapons thru the Bazaar. First one in my list would be the Sagittarius. I saw this video by Ashe10 on how to get the ingredients for the strongest bow.

Anyway, today is a sunday. I should get ready for the CCF service.

Oh, and I am sick. I cough. I have an itchy throat. I wonder if smoking has somehow caused all this. Toinks!

First Day

I woke up earlier than usual. I just hope I will be able to stay up all day — no dozing off. This is my first day of training. I will be isolated from the rest of the office starting today — for a month. As I have posted earlier, this is something new to me and I hope I will do well. Sana lang hindi sila mabore considering na relatively boring yung topics and the fact that I am a boring person. Hmmmm, am I?

I can’t believe I haven’t seen Hancock’s trailer before. I am definitely adding this to my movie list. I am not a fan of Will Smith but I am a fan of guys who can fly — ok, that’s just shallow. Call me crappy or whatever.

Five Stones That Still Kill Giants

I was able to attend the 10 o’clock CCF service this morning despite the really bad weather. I went out in my sandals and an oversized umbrella that isn’t mine.

Pastor Vince Burke spoke and he talked about killing our own giants. He started with the story of how a mere David overcame the monster Goliath with just a slingshot and a smooth pebble — and of course his faith in God. I learned that David picked five pebbles for this battle — but I am not sure if he was able to use all five or if he hit the spot with his first. Then Pastor Vince enumerated the following “stones” that we can use to kill our own “giants” — yes I was really attentive:

1. For the giant “GUILT”, have a stone that says “You are clean.”
2. For the giant “COMPROMISE”, have a stone that says “Seek Him first.”
3. For the giant “CONFUSION”, have a stone that says “Good and hard.” The Christian life is both unbelievably good and it sure is unbelievably hard.
4. For the giant “FAILURE”, have a stone that says “Don’t look back.” You can’t unscramble the eggs — so have breakfast!
5. For the giant “DISCOURAGEMENT”, have a stone that says “Don’t give up.”

Before the fourth stone, the pastor introduced this lady and she sang (I am not sure if I got the title right) “He Will Carry Me” on the piano. She was great.

The service ended with the remembrance of the last supper then with the song “Voice of Truth” by Casting Crowns. I am familiar with the song because I have downloaded their album that has this song before.

Frank

Storm Frank is currently battering Metro Manila and surrounding provinces. Typhoon signal no. 3 is up. I still need to get prepared for the Sunday service. Hmmm, do services get cancelled during storms?

Ang tanga ko kahapon. I slept mga 4 ng hapon ata, I wasn’t aware of the time. Tapos nagising ako sa lakas ng hangin at ulan. My phone says the time is 6 o’clock. Alam mo yung pakiramdam mong gising na gising ka? Ganun ung gising ko. In other words, maganda yung gising ko. So I got my towel, took a bath then changed for the sunday service. Nagtaka ako bakit madilim pa rin… e dapat 7 o’clock na. Akala ko dahil may bagyo lang. I checked my phone again — 7 o’clock nga — 7 o’clock PM, nak ng leche. Hay, katanga. Nakakatawa. So I changed back to my home clothes, well, at least bagong ligo ako.
